Hi, I’m Florian “Flow” Duffe from Munich, Germany, and I’m a Film Editor.
During my studies of New Media at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich, I earned some ominous skills you could call precise listening and watching, questioning and interpreting the deeper meaning of visual statements. With my graduation 2010 I switched to the film-industry and since 2014 I mainly work as a freelance film editor for fictional features. I love the longer formats. Digging deep into the footage, finding and carving out the story, creating that final composition.
Occasionally I dive into art-projects, cinematic trailers, documentary and music-clips.
BFS
I’m a an active member of Bundesverband Filmschnitt (BFS), Germany’s Association of Film Editors, and since July of 2024 Member of the Board.
BFS has gained significant momentum in recent years and functions as a nationwide network in many areas of our professional lives, ranging from technical questions about editing systems to legal support and copyright advice.
But for me, solidarity among colleagues and personal exchange come first and foremost. Thanks to the wealth of knowledge, I was able to find my footing very quickly at the start of my career, even in areas beyond the editing room (such as political, social law, etc.). I would like to actively pass this on. I am convinced that if we share and stand in solidarity with each other, in the end, it benefits everyone.
